Standing outside the large chapel in the pouring rain and black night, the tall man lifted his heavy partisan to his shoulder and let out a gruff sigh, "It's huge... it'll do nicely to get out of the rain." The man walked slowly to the large door of the chapel and flung it open with little effort. "Hello?" The man said as he walked into the chapel, his armour making an echoing clinking sound. "I guess no one is here..." The knight kept looking around the chapel, seemingly for somewhere to rest.
Finally finding a place to lay back, a giant obsidian cross, the man propped his partisan against it and prepared to bed down. As soon as the heavy weapon was in place the giant statue moved to one side, dropping the partisan to the ground with a loud clang. Now standing in front of the man where the cross used to be was a staircase leading down. "what... the..." The man cut short. Seeing a plaque near the cross and reading it.
"Herein lies all the treasures of the former patriarch of this church, but beware, it is all well gaurded, and only attainable by those willing to risk life and limb."
"well... I dont think it would be a good idea to enter alone..." And so the man set off to find a companion or two to enter the catacombs of the chapel.

Ilhar walked into the chapel, her wet hair weighing down her small body. Her sword in her hand ready for anything thaat moves. She threw her wet cloak on the floor and continued to move within the chapel barely making any noise.
Her soft leather boots softened her steps as she moved quietly, stopping halfway she sat down and took a deep breath.

Seeing the young girl walk in the chapel and take a place in the stone pews, the man began to walk a bit faster, but did not run. He was out for company, not a fight. The man drew closer and closer to the distant figure.
as he finally came up to the pews he put on his most friendly voice and said "You look like you could use something to dry off with." and smiled faintly, digging into his satchel for a cloth and offering it to the woman before him...

"No thanks kind sir." she raised a cloth. "I've got it." She put her sword away and smiled. "The company I won't mind though." She stood up and looked up at the man.

The man kindly put his cloth away and smiled at his new found friend. He was almost overtaken by the combonation of buety and strength her eyes gave off, but managed to speak normally, as always, "My name is Laguna. It's nice to meet you. I'm glad I found you as well... you see... there's something I need help with... you see, I came in here looking for some shelter, but it seems I stumbled on something much... more. There's a catocomb under this church, said to contain a vast aray of treasures. but I fear it isnt possible to trverse it alone, if perhaps... I had a companion however... I'm sorry, I'm being so rude, I haven't even asked you name yet," the man gave an akward laugh and a forced smile, suprised at his own unkindness, and deciding to leave it at he was excited at the chance to find treasure with a pretty girl like the one before him, the situation was getting more and more interesting by the moments...

"It is okay. I'm Ilhar Mac'then, a tad bit formal but that is my name. I would love to help you Laguna." She brushed off her trousers and tunic. Checking her knives in her boots she pulled them out. "I have many hidden knives all over so we will be well protected. Plus my sword tends to provide protection."
She smiled and walked over to her cloak pulling out a slip of paper and a match kit. "Ready to go? Sorry I tend to get hyped and ready to go when I may get a chance to fight." She started to walk toward the front of the chapel. "Well, are you coming?"

Laguna gave a startled look, and began to follow the girl. "The hallways look narrow, so I'd suggest using the smaller weapons, the knives that is," he said as he put his partizan on his back and drew his medium length estoc, "but honestly I dont know what we'll find down there... defenitely something big though, you can hear breath from the entrance..." the man hurried his pace as the pair approached the gateway to the catacombs. "well... no time like the present," he said, then flung his estoc out to one side and chanted a few words in latin, then his blade began to glow a bright white light, that somehow made Ilhar feel mezmerized. "Tha'll go away in a second or two... it's holy light, few mortals ever get to see it......... well....... see it and live more then ten minutes. Here's to breaking records!" he said as he let out a hearty laugh and descended the steps into the darkness.

"Hopefully." Ilhar took a deep breath, her hand on the hilt of her sword and a knife in her other. "I'm ready and willing to do anything." She followed Laguna down the steps watching as the light dimmed and it began to grow dark. Her eyes began to focus on small things, like the cracks on the ground untill she could see clearly in the dark. "Now I can walk at a faster place since my eyes have grown accustomed to the darkness." She continuned to follow Laguna down the stairs till the floor began to level out again.

Looking back to check on his companion occasionally laguna advanced ever deeper into the catacombs... His eyes needed little time to ajust thanks to his sword's now faint glow. coming out on to the open floor laguna shot an arm out to catch and stop Ilhar, "wait... something isnt right here... I feel something... something.... it's freezing in here! it was warm a moment ago. Something isn't right, do you have a torch on you..?" Laguna shot uneasy glances all around the open room and put his sword away, slowly and quietly reaching for his partisan.

"Lucky me, okay smart me. Yea I got something that will work." Pulling out her match kit she quickly lit a peice of wood, it's faint glow made the area around them seem to grow darker. "You are right..." Her voice grew quiet as she froze where she was standing, not moving an inch.

The dim glow of the torch fased laguna's eyes for some time, and when they were able to be used again laguna wished they weren't. He was expecting to see some kind of trivial orc, goblin, or dragon, something easily slain with a small amount of struggle... but what he saw was much worse.
A tall, slender, pale man stood in the very center of the room, his face partly shrouded by his jet black robe, obscuring everytihng but his eyes, which were glowing bright white, like snow. The mans robe was adorned in certain area's with small skulls and other bones, and he held a small mace in his right hand. But laguna's biggest fear lay in the mans left, a large leather bound book with a title in latin "mortus venibat" or "death comes", a book of necromancy.
Laguna stared blankly, trying not to let this phase him, the necromancer was obviously not human, and probably couldnt speak, but was no lease dangerous... especially here. Laguna readied his partisan and turned to his companion, "Ever fight a necromancer in a tomb before...?" then he nervously rushed the apparation headlong, only hoping his accomplice was behind him.

Ilhar had hed sword out and ready to go. Following Laguna's steps. "Nope, but I can try. Not sure if my earth magic and healing will help though. Tell me what to do and I will." Ilhar had a ball of earth in her left had and sword in right. Slowly the ball began to turn into a shield. "Need a shield?" she asked but she didn't think he would. Her steps echoed his as the fight began.

The Necromancer noticed the approaching intruders, and without a word raised his hand, beckoning six undead knights from the ground. Laguna rushed straight up to the closest one and cut him clear across with his partisan, seeing the look on his companions face he said, "Dont get too excited he wont stay that way... and nothanks on the sheild," he said as he wrenched his blade from the beast on the ground, then he said as he sent his partisan into another knight advancing on him, "As to what (grunt) you can do... (breath) now is a good time to start killing things..."

"Well killing is the easy part." Ilhar ran her sword through the nearest undead knight. Pulling her sword out she grunted at the thought of having to clean it. Another knight advanced on her and she quickly dodged his blow and ran her sword neatly through his stomach and turning it sharply upward before pulling it out. "Two for me and I am only getting warmed up." She smiled, this was getting to be to much fun for her.

Laguna ran his partizan across the skulls of the two knights he was comfronting, which turned to dust. "You have to take out their brains," he said running to Ilhar as the knights she had slain rose to their feet- he rammed his partisan into the stomach of the closest one and alerted his partner to the one on her other side, as he couldnt get to it...
Meanwhile the man in blakc looked on with a smirk on his pale face...
